My therapeutic approach is integrative and trauma-informed. I draw from Object Relations Theory, AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), Family Systems Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients explore and heal emotional wounds, build resilience, and strengthen relationships. Together, we’ll work to uncover your inherent strengths and create meaningful changes that align with your goals. I also emphasize collaboration and skill-building, supporting growth not only in our sessions but in your everyday life as well.

With a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Corban University and a background as a caregiver and case manager, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the importance of personalized, trauma-informed care. I understand how trauma impacts the mind, body, and relationships, and I’m committed to fostering a therapeutic process that feels safe and empowering for you.

When I’m not in session, you’ll often find me exploring Portland’s vibrant neighborhoods, connecting with my community, or continuing to deepen my knowledge to better serve my clients.

If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to join you on this journey. Fill out an interest form on my website so we can begin this process together.

Currently, I am registered as a Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Oregon and am working on completing my clinical hours required for licensure. I am practicing under the license of my supervisor, Dr. Lori Schelske PHD, LMFT.

Nicole Frangella

MA, Professional Counselor Associate

Welcome to Frangella Counseling Services!

Hi, I’m Nicole, and I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support is an act of courage, and I want to honor the bravery it takes to explore the challenges you’re facing. As a Professional Counselor Associate, I provide a compassionate and safe space where you can process your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.

I specialize in working with pre-teens, teens, and young adults who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, disordered eating, and relational struggles. Many of my clients come with stories shaped by trauma, adoption, divorce, or other significant life transitions. I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to share your story at your own pace.

Professional Mental Health Services

Provide support, promote healing, & inspire change.

A Holistic Approach to Therapy

Therapy is an effective tool meant to help you express, clarify, and gain insight into your emotions, symptoms, and relationships. This can be done in more ways than one, meaning that not every therapist is the right fit for every client. I work with clients by continuously holding a posture of acceptance, reflection, and genuineness in sessions that provide a facilitative environment where people can change. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic skills tailored to your needs. Check out the descriptions of the services I offer below.

Specialties

Young Adults

Young adulthood is a time of self-discovery, but it can also bring unprocessed pain, relational struggles, and uncertainty. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, heal past wounds, and create a path toward the life you want. Learn more about how I work with young adults.

Family Collaboration

While I primarily work with teens and children individually, I integrate parenting sessions throughout the therapy process to strengthen family relationships and support lasting change. The number of sessions is tailored to your family’s unique needs. Learn more about how I work with families.

Teens/ Pre-teens

Pre-teens are navigating a world of rapid growth and change. I provide a safe, supportive space where they can process emotions, build confidence, and develop tools to handle life’s challenges. Learn more about how I work with this age group.

Freedom To Take Up Space

My office is designed to be a safe and comforting space where you can feel at ease. With games, a coffee and tea station, cozy blankets, and thoughtful details, I aim to create an environment where you feel supported and cared for during your therapy journey.
